More power, upgraded technology
Land Rover has announced a series of updates for the 2012 Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport.
First and foremost, the 3.0-liter SDV6 diesel engine has been tuned to produce 256 PS (188 kW / 252 hp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque – an increase of 11 PS (8 kW / 11 hp). It is connected to a new eight-speed automatic transmission, with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and a Jaguar-inspired rotary gear-selector, which enables both models to have reduced CO2 emissions of 230 g/km.
Besides the added performance, the SUVs feature restyled wheels, an optional 17-speaker 825W Harmon Kardon audio system and updated infotainment systems with “Say What You See” voice control. The Discovery 4 also gains Hill Start Assist and Gradient Acceleration Control, while the Range Rover Sport boasts a new power-operated tailgate and a seven-inch touchscreen display with Dual View technology.
