Irmscher 7 SELECTRA electric roadster concept revealed in Geneva
For the 81st Geneva Motor Show, German tuner Irmscher has revealed an electric powered roadster concept based on the Irmscher 7 Turbo Roadster.
The classic Lotus 7 type vehicle uses a 144V DC motor producing 175 kW (238 PS / 235 bhp) and a massive 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque – the highest amount of torque available on the market for an electric car. Battery power comes from Lithium iron phosphate cells (LiFePo). Advantages of this liquid cooled battery included thousands of cycles of depleting and recharging capacity as well as little power loss at low temperatures.
Caterham’s first new car in 17 years
Surrey firm debuts track-only SP/300.R one-make racer which could spawn hardcore road car.
New Caterhams don’t come along very often, but today’s the day that the Surrey firm will unleash its SP/300.R – its first new car since the 21 arrived in 1994.
The SP/300.R features looks inspired by Audi’s open top Le Mans cars, right down to the LED daytime running lights. However, the polyurethane bodywork is bespoke, and includes a huge, adjustable carbon fibre and aluminium rear wing.
