Insane!!!
Mazda has unveiled the new MX-5 GT endurance racer which will compete this year in the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship.
The MX-5 GT was developed in tandem with Jota Sport, which will run the cars in the 2011 series.
Mazda’s MX-5 roadster has achieved yet another milestone – unit number 900 000. It’s a soft-top two-litre destined for Germany and it rolled off the production line on February 4, 2011.
The highlight was reached after 21 years of producing of a car that first made the Guinness Book of Records in 2000 as the world’s “best-selling two-seat sports car” when production reached 531 890.
The car has been in production since 1989; Mazda’s mandate with the MX-5 was to create a sports car that would be – and remains – light and fun to drive.
