Originally introduced in 1963, the iconic Porsche 911 is a shape recognised the world over. The engine hanging over the rear axle was certainly perceived controversial by some, but this layout has since delivered 911’s that have set drivers pants on fire with blistering performance! Right from inception, Porsche proved the its formula with racing, and boy has it been successful in just about all forms of motorsport.

Early Carrera RS models are considered by many collectors as THE greatest classic 911s of all time and those in the know, know exactly why! As with so many highly collectible sportscars nowadays, The “Racing sport” was a production special manufactured in low volumes to meet the minimum number to be able to enter certain racing formulas. The 911 2.7 RS was given the core basics of a bigger engine, larger brakes and stiffened suspension – this truly was a great in the motoring world which has since been adorned in ever book of the greatest driver vehicles!

The car in question was built by the renowned and now legendary Peter Gough, who completed it in 1994 after a painstaking 14 month build. From the outset, the goal was to outperform a standard RS. No expenses were spared in achieving this goal and perfection was priority over costs! The donor body came of a 71’ 911 2.2T which was in already solid condition….He then set about with a full body restoration adding the RS rear arches, front & rear bumper and boot lid. On the inside, the interior was given the full lightweight RS trim (hood lining & Carports) and super supportive original RS Recaro seats were installed. It certainly looks the part! Now for the performance parts!!!

The gearbox came from a 915 that was fully reconditioned by Porsche agents coupled with a new genuine Porsche heavy duty clutch along with a pressure plate were fitted. Then a new competition exhaust system was fitted to handle the increased engine output. The 2.7lt crank and 7R crank casings were fitted with 2.9litre male competition high compression pistons and sleeves which were professionally ported with twin spark heads. New 46 IDA Weber carbs on high rise manifolds with K&N filters were installed. An additional external oil cooler was mounted up front behind the bumper with standard Porsche plumbing. Engine Check! Power Check! Straight line speed Check!

And now to stop this beast! The brakes were upgraded with competition in mind with dual master cylinders front and rear with a brake bias adjuster for incredible stopping power. Suspension Is Bilstein all round with Weltmeister adjustable anti roll bars fitted front and rear. Of course there has to be some 15 inch Genuine Porsche Fuchs wheels to complete the package. The handling on this has been set-up for road and track…you can push super hard on the road and go down to your local track and turn in some laps. Driver experience, simply outstanding! It makes all the right noise and feels like an extension of one’s body as you think your way through corners. An absolute blast to drive!

This special car carries loads of build history with Porsche Agent invoices that a car of this calibre deserves. Please contact for more detailed information on the build and parts fitted.
