As revolutions go, the FF is a complete reinvention of everything that Ferrari stands for. For starters, there’s the name. FF stands for Ferrari Four, which refers to the four-seater cabin and four-wheel-drive running gear.
OK, so Ferrari has built four-seaters before – such as the 612 Scaglietti, which the FF replaces – it’s built front-engined GT cars, and it’s even had a go at making something with four-wheel drive (a prototype, built in the Eighties), but never has it combined all of this in the same machine.
New Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 supercar official pictures
Meet the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, the first all-new Lambo production car in eight years. It replaces the much-loved Murcielago, which has been on sale since 2001. The new Lamborghini gets its full unveiling at the 2011 Geneva motor show.
And while the Aventador’s styling is a clean evolution rather than a striking revolution, the rest of the car is box-fresh. The engine, gearbox and carbonfibre chassis are all brand new.
Ferrari Four concept gets web unveiling [video]
Ferrari has hosted a web unveiling of the new Four concept, ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
Essentially a preview of the 612 successor, the Ferrari Four (FF) features an aggressive front fascia, an expressive rear end, and a California-inspired profile. While the shooting brake design won’t win everyone over, the concept is extremely practical as it can hold 450 liters (15.9 cubic feet) of luggage with the rear seats up and 800 liters (28.3 cubic feet) with the rear seats down.
Meet the 651bhp Ferrari FF
It’s Forza Ferrari! Meet the FF, Ferrari’s replacement for the 612 Scaglietti. Not only is the newcomer an all-new model, it’s also the company’s most powerful four-seater ever, as well as its first ever four-wheel-drive car.
The FF – an acronym for Ferrari Four (four seats and four-wheel drive) – is described by Ferrari as a car that “represents not so much an evolution as a true revolution”.
