2012 Mercedes C63 AMG facelift leaked

Someone in Germany should check the plumbing as the 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG has been leaked for a second time.

In the latest batch of photos, you can see the updated model features an aggressive front fascia, a revised grille, new headlights and LED fog lights. Out back, changes are relatively minor but include a reshaped bumper and revised tail lights.

No interior pictures were released, but the first leak showed the cabin will receive the same updates as the standard model. However, to distinguish the high-performance variant, there are unique touches such as heavy-bolstered sport seats, an AMG steering wheel and piano black trim on the center console.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has caused a considerable stir with its blistering performance and gullwing doors. Now the open-top version sees this model getting its wings clipped.

British publication Auto Express has revealed pictures of a lightly-disguised prototype vehicle with a configuration that suggests a roof mechanism comprising an electrically-operated canvas top underpinned by lightweight aluminium ribs – a system similar to that used by the Roadster version of the McLaren-Mercedes SLR.

Maybach (finally) debuts a coupe

Mercedes-Benz’s Maybach brand may be in trouble, yet this has not prevented it from previewing a new coupe version.

Other über-luxury brands, notably Bentley and Roll-Royce, offer arresting coupe alternatives.

Elegant cars such as the Continental GT and Phantom Coupe.

Maybach though, only markets an oversized four-door limousine.

The four-door bodystyle, coupled with crass styling details, had never endowed the modern Maybachs with the same cachet as their 1930s namesakes.

Now, finally, things are about to change.
